Ford Mondeo stiff gear change

Car: Ford Mondeo
Variant: 2.0 TDCI
Model Year: 2010
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
New car to me. Only had 4 weeks. Been fine up to now yesterday on the way to work gear changes particularly into 2nd and 4th were stiff. Not impossible but just a bit stiff. There was almost a squeak as I forced it in. Felt the same when the car was off and stationary when I got to work. Wasn't anywhere as bad when I drove home but still a bit stiff. Any ideas ?

Check the gear linkage and lubricate it,also could be a hydraulic leak causing clearance issue and if none of those then possibly clutch clearance issue, diaphragm fingers etc.

Checked clutch fluid level ?

if gears feel stiff when engine turned off and car stationary then i would go for linkage or gear change cabels
