Ford Mondeo engine faults

After a long run the glow plug light flashes,power goes down and there is heavy black smoke from the exhaust. The first time it happened I turned it off and restarted it, which cleared the fault. Its just happened again and would not clear. Any ideas?

sounds like your injectors need cleaning, try injector cleaner first as this is the cheaper option, if that doesn't clear it then you 'll need to have them professionally cleaned
