Ford Mondeo hazard warning lights will not switch off

Although the car seems to drive OK, the hazard warning lights are permanently 'on'. Switching them on and off makes no difference. Is this a warning that something else is wrong? The problem started a little while ago.

usually just faulty switch not related to eng man problemsbbb
