Thanks for your input, I had charged the battery a few days ago so that's alright, I have taken the push button out and I am trying to figure out how to check if it's working or not, it's seems to have 3 connections . As the starter button is adjacent to the Hazard lights ( all one unit) there are 6 pins in total. There is continuity across 2 pins when pressed but not the third pin so I was going to try to get the starter circuit schematic up maybe that will help me.

Sorry I cant help you with a wiring schematic for that car . Only thing with the battery , if it has any weak cells it wont hold the charge . That' why we LOAD test them . Also worth checking the wiring at starter and ALL grounds .

Hi thanks again, new battery about this time last year 4 yr warranty so I feel sure it's OK but will check the voltage, should be about 12.6v fully charged I believe. I tried looking at the wiring schematic but I found it to difficult to understand. I forgot to say that when I push the start button the ignition and all dash board lights come on as usual but no sound at all of it trying to start.
I'll check the wiring as you suggest, thanks again

Quite a few fuses that are related that are worth checking

Hi, re the car not starting, my husbands Ford Kuga did the same thing and it was discovered after replacing the battery, replacing the starter motor that the power unit that started the ignition process was faulty and needed replacing. There are two power units, one that controls all the lights etc, and the other one is the engine side of things. It took a specific engineer in uk to diagnose this issue.

Never heard of that on any car " There are two power units, one that controls all the lights etc, and the other one is the engine side of things. " would be very interested in more info on the alleged " power units "
