Ford KA only sparks on 2 cylinders 1&4

you have to change the ecu key and icm imobilisor control module or just change the ecb but it will have to be linked to the icm by fords

Hi Waggy. I have just had the same problem on a fiesta. It was definitely the ECU that caused the fault. If you do a search for a company called BBA Reman they will repair the ECU for you and it wont have to be coded into the car. This stops the worry of re coding the keys etc. One very important piece of info is that its possible that the COIL PACK caused the ecu to fail. I (& BBA) seriously advise you to replace the coil again with a genuine unit. These are very expensive but I found a supplier online called REMOCO who was very reasonable. Under no circumstances connect the repaired ECU with the coil pack you have already fitted. This could blow the repaired ECU again!!

Hi I would be grateful for a bit of help on a similar subject I'm trying to save the daughter an expensive repair but things have moved on since I last serviced my own cars. Problem KA firing on 1,2,&3 engine fault light illuminated. Changed plugs changed no 4 HT lead still no joy is the next move the distributer / coil?. Theres one on a car in scrap yard where I had the lead from. Is it just a question of new coil or could the problem lie elsewhere? its a 1300 Duratec engine.
