Ford KA burning smell

I have had my car which is a ford ka, for about 3 months and when i drive it to on the motorway i can smell burning. No warning lights come on, i cant hear a fan, is the fan suppose to have a belt round it?

It's an electric fan , no belt . Coolant level o.k ?

Yeah the coolant level is fine. i have topped up with oil as well.
