Ford KA intermittent flickering of interior/exterior lights and occassional dashboard display light failure

Car: Ford KA
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
whenever i drive the car i notice the interior dashboard display lights and the exterior headlights seem to flicker constantly-like a slight power failure.
Also, the battery low light comes on even though the battery has been changed recently.
Also, the interior dashboard display sometimes fails and the speedometer stays at 0.
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY FORD KA MANUAL(HAYNES) IS CORRECT IN SAYING THAT IT'S A RUSTED EARTH CONNECTION TO THE CAR BODY WHICH NEEDS CLEANING, AND IF SO, CAN I REQUEST A GARAGE SPECIFICALLY TO GIVE A CLEAN-OVER OF THE EARTH CONNECTIONS TO THE CAR BODY?

Certainly worthwhile checking / cleaning earths .Also check connection / wiring to alternator and alternator output .

could be fault with alternator itself. but checks earths first for tightness cleanness and rust free

I recently had the same problem, and it was repaired with a new charge control module which was around £30 :)
