Ford KA cooling fan

Car: Ford KA
Variant: 1.3i(70)
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
My cooling fan seems to be on nearly all the time. As suggested i checked the coolant and the level is fine. Told it could be a sensor. Any ideas what it is called and how do i change it? I would rather fix it myself if possible

thanks

Your car is a 2003 , but might apply i.e if older stock registered early in that year .

Ford Ka 2002 1.3 Duratec

Problem: Engine fan running continuously, rough engine running, misfiring and / or difficulty to start.

Solution: This year Ka can suffer from water ingress to the PCM. Check the PCM connector pins for corrosion. Also check the wiring harness for the PCM in the engine bay is sealed correctly. Extra sealant has been used for the wiring harness since 12/2002.

Almost sure the ECT (engine coolant temp ) sensor is fitted on thermostat housing on that car . But could be wrong , they might have changed it .

the sensor is located on the top right hand side as i remember with 2 wires going to it with a blue plastic connector will be easy to spot and easy to replace visit any motor factors and they will be able to help you out you will be looking about £15 for this item and its easy to replace to will take about 5 minutes to replace
