Ford KA car goes into limp mode p0101

diagnostic fault code is P0101 witch refers to airmass meter fault, the problem i have is that this car is not fitted with a air mass meter it uses a map sensor to reference the inlet manifold. just wandering if any one else has come across this problem ? been experiencing this problem for a while on girlfriends car .just carried out service to see if it improved but still getting p0101 code loss of power and eml light .fitted new Generic MAP sensor same problem next day ..fitted new battery last month .

I never fit generic MAP sensor or Maf sensors , always OEM .Could scan with Forscan

I have removed removed generic unit and trying new ford unit .but even genuine ford are supplied as generic unit ie bosche ..intermotor ( this is the one I fitted ) I always try to fit OE parts but not easy nowadays ..thanks for the reply .

Have you checked the basics like plugs , air filter , cyl compressions , disconnecting the MAP sensor with engine running to see if it alters . If it doesn't alter , not working / doing anything .Intermotor are never Ford OEM unless something has changed in all the years I've been in this trade

have just carried out full service .including all filters oil/air/pollen new plugs etc ..the car is a 2014 but only done 21,000..going to run BG44K through it just incase its getting badly coked up ..

" just incase its getting badly coked up .." if that was the case it would show on plugs , compression test . Check plug leads also with ohms meter
