Rear wiper and nearside brake light not working. Garage unable to find a fault and suspects a control module. Devices working OK with new feeds but ECU not recognising brake light. Shows light fault when brake pedal first pressed after starting.

Check for damage to wiring at top of tailgate where it enters ( in rubber sheath ) . Check for power at brake light holder and printed circuit . If not back trace wiring

Thanks
If there are any circuit breaks they appear to be further forward.
The car is only under warranty for another month so there isn't much time for it to develop a definite ECU fault.
It's otherwise running OK so I'm reluctant to experiment later with any second hand ECU . I would also have to trace and undo the garage's new wiring.

If car under warranty , it's down to them to fix , not you

Just remember you are driving with a defective brake light and could be liable for a pull from the police if they were behind you when driving

The brake light has a new feed and works OK. It's simply that the ECU doesn't recognise it and displays the defective light warning
