Ford KA 1.2L 2011. Car won’t start, but The Electrics (one click) works fine, checked battery, seems to working fine. Changed starter motor to new one and it worked a few short drives and then would start again. What could this be?

Your car battery may have weak / dud cells and not holding a charge . Needs voltage tested , like wise the alternator to see if it's charging o.k

Thank you very much! i will get this checked out. I feel as being a woman it’s so hard going to a garage without getting ripped off. I’ve spent so much on my this past year and I spoke to people and they think it’s because I’m a woman! Madness really! So ill say I think it may be the battery or the alternator (it may go in my favour trying to act like I know what I’m on about haha.) thanks again :)

Unfortunately it happens all to often with women getting ripped off with some dubious garages . Tell whoever is doing the work you want both the battery and alternator LOAD tested and a note of the readings . Most good garages or fast fit centres should do these tests foc while you wait , simple 5 min check . Hopefully it's only something simple like the battery needing replaced
