Ford KA sometimes the mileage flashes , but recently when i turn the key to start the car, the time keeps flashing , i’ve tried restarting it and it’s permanently flashing . what could this be ?

Car: Ford KA
Variant: 1.2
Model Year: 2009
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Sometimes the mileage flashes , not all the time , just occasionally. Now the clock is permanently flashing when I turn in the engine . The car starts perfectly, so I’m confused why this is happening . Can anyone help please?

Can be caused by your car battery being low . Could get it tested at any fast fit centre or the likes of Halfords usually FOC and while you wait . May only need charging a bit or possibly replaced if any weak cells .

If battery , once rectified in whatever way , clock may need resetting .

It should normally be FOC ( free of charge ) to get battery LOAD tested , only takes a minute or two . Also gives you an indication of your battery condition for the approaching winter conditions which put a bigger load on it .
