Ford Galaxy flashing temperature gauge light

Car: Ford Galaxy
Variant: 2.8 v6 auto
Model Year: 1998
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi my temperature gauge light keeps flashing red when I start to drive. It used to do this only now and again but now is all the time. I have water in the engine and the gauge is working showing that the engine is definately not running hot! My dad isnt an expert but he thinks it may be the sensor. Does anyone else have any ideas and how I can fix this problem? Masny thanks for reading x

Your dad is probably correct , could be just sensor .Check coolant level, then the wires to the low-level sensor and the coolant temperature sensor .
