Ford Galaxy hand brake handle will not release

The handbrake is fully up and when I press the button in to release it fails,button seems very free and not connecting inside,how can I resolve this fault

You may need to unbolt it from the floor in order to either fix it or fit a new one.

If the button is quite free - you may be able to prise it out of position and then push the inner item that it would normally press with a Screwdriver etc. You will then have to sort out a permanant cure as per Bustem Knuckle etc.
