Ford Fusion coil and ecu failure

Car: Ford Fusion
Variant: 1.4
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My car wont start the RAC been and checked it and advised 'lost feed to primary coil, suspected coil failure causing ECU to burn out- Have rechecked but suspect ECU will need replacing' he advised it will cost around £1800 to fix. I have called garages but nobody will give me a guideline price over the phone and I cant get the car to a garage. Does anyone have any idea if £1800 is about right to fix it. Many thanks
