Ford Fusion blower motor resistor - location and replacement

Car: Ford Fusion
Variant: 1.4Tdci Manual
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My blower only works on setting 4, which the forums suggest is a blower motor resistor.

I cannot find the location - it is not behind the control on the dash, behind the fuse box or in the passenger footwell...at least as far as I can see.

Does this mean it is on the motor itself?

Anyway, I would love to know precisely where it is and how I go about accessing it for replacement - they seem to be going for about £10 on ebay and I am hoping not to have to pull the whole dash out to change it....

Can any experts help me - either with instructions or picture? Thanks...

Almost sure you gain access by removing glove box .

Yes...a few other forums suggest that (it is where the fuse box is located) but no joy on the Fusion. Apparently Fiestas and early Focus have it there but not the Fusion.

Any other ideas out there?

Think it,s part of the motor,it,s as you say the motor is located in heater climate unit look,s difficult to get to a bit of stripping required.centre of vehicle ,nothing on the left other than fuse box.
