i have had my alternator replaced after origional one broke. however the battery warning light still comes on, not allways straight away sometimes i can go 30-40 miles before it comes on but sometimes it's only 1-5 miles, never straight away. iv'e had the alternator checked and it is charging the battery. Baring putting black tape over the warning light , what else could i do.
many thanks

check the charge rate on the back of the alternator and at the battery terminals, the readings should be the same,if there is a difference then you have a voltage drop on the wire between alternator and battery,in which cas check the wiring is secure and there is not damage to wiring,do a continuity test as there is aninline fusible link built into the wire, would also be worth getting your battery checked out
