Ford Focus loss of power

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: 1.4
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi all,
For about 2 weeks my car has been chugging like I'm a leaner driver when I put my foot down. 2 days ago I could smell burning when driving, although not constantly. Now I feel a loss of power like its only firing on 3 & the engine sounds dog rough. I had the coil pack replaced approx 2 years ago, and I have exactly the same symptoms whilst driving, so could it be the coil pack again ?
Thanks

remove the leads and check to see if you are getting a spark on all leads,if not it could be the coilpack again,if this appears ok then start checking your plugs and leads are in good nick

Could well be coil pack again , though other possible causes .Would be advisable to get car into garage for checkover , especially re. burning smell.

if the car is misfiring then you will get a burning smell from cat as the unburnt fuel is going straight out of cylinder and through exhaust system into cat,if you keep driving with a misfire you will damage the cat

If it's not an engine fault and you are getting power loss and burning smell , possibly clutch slip ? or maybe a combination of both .
