Ford Focus steering wheel makes rubbing noise

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: 1.6 Zetec Auto
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Leaks & Noises
When driving in the focus and using the steering wheel to its maximum potential (eg. roundabouts or corners) the steering wheel makes a rubbing/whistling noise. Checked all levels and they are fine. Wondered what this could be?

Nothing is getting caught in the steering wheel when turning it on full lock.

could be a cv joint but that makes more like a knocking noise on full lock

Probably just noise associated with fluid pressure
