Ford Focus rev counter hunting, air con starting up automatically and car stalling

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: 1.6
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
This is an intermittent problem.
It never happens when the car is cold only once it's warmed up. It also only happens when I'm going very slowly or when the car is stationary. It never happens if I'm travelling at 30mph or faster.

The rev counter starts hunting, the car sometimes stalls and the air con starts up automatically.

It's been back to the garage several times, but they've not solved the problem.

Any ideas?

check your battery terminals are tight and that you have a fully charged battery in good condition, check all your earth points and wiring connections are making good contact,is there any warning lights on the dash,if so get your fault codes read
