Ford Focus water in spark plugs

Car: Ford Focus
Model Year: 2005
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
After the problems with my 2005 focus e.g shuddering in low gears and engine management light being on changed coil pack and now went to change the spark plugs to find the well that it is full of water/rust - any one had this issue or had it fixed out of warranty which my car is?

Common and known fault with washer jets leaking and filling plug recess .Later modified to prevent this happening.

You can dry up water , suck it out with a tube or blow it out with an air line .Then either seal or replace washer jets to prevent it happening again .Should be o.k after that .Best of luck .

Thanks all for your response's. Just been quoted a worst case scenario of £900 if the spark plug breaks in the thread. Here's hoping

well i hope for the sake of your wallet that they take great care and don`t damage the thread, its worth spraying wd40 down the spark plug bore and letting it soak for a while.

Don't know who quoted you £900 , maybe main dealer ? Worst case scenario if plugs snapped would be head off , and plug threads repaired / replaced . Any local engineering company should be able to overhaul head as required for a lot , lot less than that .That is if the plugs snap which is not always the case , they often come out .Even any good local , independant garage should be able to do it an awfully lot cheaper .Might be worth while checking Yellow pages and phoning a few places for advice / quote .Certainly in Glasgow area you've got the West of Scotland Engineering Co. Ltd. who have been doing this sort of work for many years .
