Ford Focus cant get over 60mph

Hi, my car wont accelorate in 5th gear and will only get up to 60mph, is this a fuel filter problem, have heard reports it could have something to do with the tyres, is this possible, please help me, xxx

Don't know how tyres could cause fault . Could be fuel filter especially if not been changed for a while .

has the engine management light been on as it may be in limp home mode

there are no warning lights on the dash, just a very sluggish motor

its the fuel pump and its gone into limp mode big problem with these

ok so what the solution, is it a problem that i can sort if i buy the parts (not a mechnic) or is it easier to just take it to a garage, oh and thanku you all for all your help, xxx
