2013 Ford Focus 1.0 Mk3 which I’ve owned from new. Never had any previous faults. Go to start car one morning, battery totally dead (4.5 volts). I’m certain that nothing was left switched on, battery terminals clean and tight etc. Jump started car, measuring 14.5 volts, no warning lights. Conclude battery faulty so bought new one. About 2 months later same thing happened, one morning battery completely dead. This time, once car was jump started and taken for ten mile run, I plugged in OBD tester (cheap EBay one) which showed “no error code detected”. Disconnected + terminal and placed meter between terminal clamp and battery post, measures 1.25 milliamps with nothing switched on.

Sometimes you have to wait a little while while certain circuits / modules shut down before checking for a parasitic drain

OK, did that. Noticed current drop when F81 removed (interior motion sensor). Can't rule out other things at play of course. So will leave this non-vital fuse out for a while and see what happens. This could take months. Thanks for reply.

A lot of people disable the interior motion sensor on a lot of cars / makes for various reasons . Could also check the battery voltage after lying overnight , prior to starting is fully up to charge / voltage to give an accurate test
