Ford Focus fluid in driver footwell

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: 1.6 lx
Model Year: 2002
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I thought i had water getting into the footwell, I`ve heard of other focus`s with this problem.
The fluid in my off side footwell is oily, could it be clutch fluid? or something else.
Any help would be appreciated.

It will more than likely be water, the clutch, brake and power steering fluid is kept well away from the footwell under the bonnet. Have you checked all of you door seals etc for cracks or leaks?

a common problem for water in the footwells is a blocked pollen filter which is situated under the wiper skuttle on the passenger side under the bonnet. if its not the door or window sills, may be a leak from the heater matrix, check water level, oily texture may be the antifreeze.this is situated under the dash in the middle.
hope this is of some help... raffai.
