Ford Focus cruise control

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: 1.6 Titanium x
Model Year: 2011
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My cruise control does not engage when the button is pressed on the steering wheel, however it worked a couple of weeks ago and seems to be hit and miss/ temperamental . its very frustrating when one time it works then doesn't - My car was in for MOT the other day and the mechanic plugged it in but nothing showed up -all clear..I've heard it could be a few things but would not know where to start as I am not a mechanic by any means.
