Model Year: 2004
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hello. I bought car 2 weeks ago 132400 miles on clock.Starts ok. Problem starts once engine warmed up.Normal idle 1100.When i stop then rev shoots up to 3000 ,coming down slowly say takes 15 seconds. On motorway when changing gears,it doesnt go down but upwards.even at higher speed if i do neutral ,revs go up 15 seconds later comes at 1100.I dont know when plugs were changed, what oil is inside.Looks clean oil.Do u suspect vaccume leaks.Has this model got EGR VALVE ? PLz reply ASAP. Regards nd nice holiday.

Could be a number of things so best advice is get your garage to scan it.
though the EGR is an unlikely suspect,
usually a fault is these makes for uneven idle speed/low/or stalling from idle.

Check underneath the inlet manifold as they have a hose connected which tends to collapse and cause an air leak you should hear it also there is a little blanking piece on the manifold that can break off as well idle control valves have been known to stick as well
