Ford Focus weird smell

My ford focus diesel 2010 is making a weird burning smell coming from the passages side of the bonnet any ideas what it could be I Intailly thought it was the brake pads burning as it smells abit like burnt rubber I have since had the brake pads and disc replaced but this smell is still there smells like its coming from the right hand side of the bonnet all fluid levels are fine can't see any leaks checked the air filter to see if anything was trapped and coming from there still no joy smell gets strong after a drive and is still there the morning after if a sniff the right hand side of the bonnet

Checked the cabin / pollen filter ?

Yeah I've checked Inside the cab and cleaned it out how do u check the pollen filter

Checked this earlier still no joy smell still there outside

Could be the dpf regenerating which is normal.

Thanks if it is that how long should the smell last and when should I get it checked if it's still there

IF that is what it is , a fast , decent length of journey on likes of motorway , should be enough to complete regeneration .Short trips dont help .
