Steering loose...purchaser says, "vehicle previously owned by a disabled person. Steering pump needs to be changed to solve problem"? Comments please

Ask what the problem is and why it needs changed from whoever advised you .

Normally steering loose is a good thing ,as it means power steering is working.But if you mean that there's excessive play then that,s a different issue .

Can the excessive play in the steering be corrected by
installing a new steering pump?
