my ford focus when i change gear is high reving before i receive accerelation any ideas thx

Could be your clutch slipping, ie lots of engine noise but not getting up speed

do u mean it is accelerating itself. if it is idol control falve

If the revs are high, upto about 3000rpm, when stopped, say at a junction, and then returns to about 1500rpm. Like you have been advised already it could well be the 'idol speed control valve'. I had the same problem this week on my galaxy 2000. Easy job, take it off and clean it with a 'decarboniser'.
