Dont need to have play in bearings to be noisy , try spinning and see if you can hear noise , feel roughness .Common fault with bearings .

On some of these bearings you can only determine which one,s faulty using a stethoscope,As they do not feel rough or noisey when spun by hand, you could try a long screwdriver to ear whilst someone spins it for you in the centre of the bearing, Please ensure the car is jacked properly with an axle stand when doing this.Or if you road test it with a friend who can locate which corner the noise is most evident.
