the fan resistor pack has broken down it reduces the voltage to the fan for pos 1/2/3 its not used for pos 4 as thats 12v common fault on all cars.prob a main dealer part

thank you mr suzuki regarding above fault, now where would I find the resistor pack in the car. regards Bill.

Same thing with mine but I can't be bothered fixing it - only works on 4.
It'll be about 30-40 quid, and it's either the switch arrangement itself, or on some vehicles there is a seperate resistance for the fan speed. It will be on or around the motor

thanks everyone,jobs done,bought new replacement ford resister packcost £11.50. tools required one long handled philips screwdriver.undo 3 screws holding glove door.undo 2 plastic screws to release cover below where the door was,undo 1 screw to release heater cowl(bit fiddley) you are now looking at the fan moter.to the right of the moter and attached to the bulkhead with 1 screw is the fan resister pack,undo screw and replace. regards bill.
