Ford Focus washer jet/pump problem

Car: Ford Focus
Variant: tdi
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi there, I have a problem with my washer jets on my car. They do not work very well on the front. I have just changed the jets and 1 was working with a lot of power but then suddenly stopped. I get a bit of a trickle and thats about it. Is this a pump problem?
Thanks

Could be the pump weak or may be partial blockage at pump due to sludge / soap restricting flow . Some pumps have a filter fitted which can get blocked also .

Is there anything I can add to water bottle to break any sludge down?

had a problem the same at work and ford told us that the filter at the pump get blocked.there solution they told us to do was to remove the pump and either remove the filter or pierce a hole in it. we removed the filter and blew through it with an airline to remove the dirt. this seemed to have cured the problem. i wouldnt recommend removing it completly or pierce a hole in it because it was fitted for a reason.

Isnt that quite a big job as the pump is under the nearside wing?

you might need to un bolt part of the plastic linner at the washer bottle behind the wheel. the washer pump should just pull out of the seal.
