Ford Focus C-Max ignition light intermittent

Car: Ford Focus C-Max
Variant: 2.0 TDCI
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Ignition light has just started to come on intermittently. Aslo a high pitch noise from the engine has started at the same time. Together with the Electronic hanbrake error light.

All seems to be related when ingition light goes out all is reset and working ok.

Checked Fan belts seem to be intact. Could it be a fault with the alternator.

I welcome any advice.
