Ford Focus C-Max alarm sounds and wipers move when car locked up

Car: Ford Focus C-Max
Variant: 2.0 petrol
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
A problem has arisen where when the alarm is set, after a period of time the wipers start slowly and erratically moving across the screen.

Then the indicators flash and the alarm sounds after a short while.

The problem has also now started occurring with the car not locked.

The only time it does not happen is with the key left in the ignition.

this happened to me it was caused by water contamination in the Body Control Module (known as the GEM)the unit had to be replaced at just over £400. After the module was replaced and reprogrammed to my cmax it worked fine for a couple of days and then I got some more false alarms. My local Ford Dealership checked it all out again and said there was a problem with the front door ajar switch..... after some discussion it was decided to disable the alarm system, problem solved no more false alarm in the early hours of the morning!
