Ford Fiesta fiesta dash fault

I appear to have an intermittent fault which is getting worse.
When truning the ingnition on the dashboard illuminates as normal.
On start-up the display and all lights go off. After about two seconds the lights all com on (incl the backlights. The LCD bars cycle from bottom to top and the rev counter and speedo come on. Everything then works as normal until the next time the cars is started.
Additionally the clock also looses time (about 2-3mins per day).
Any ideas please??????

Might be worthwhile getting battery tested to see if it's low ( needing a charge or replaced )
