Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.2 16v
Model Year: 1998
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
HI, Im getting a strange knocking sound that is gtting slightly worse over 3/4 weeks.
Its when i start from standing through 1st gear then into 2nd a bit then dissapears in the rerst of the gears and does not happen in reverse either.

Hard to locate, and this is a guess but seems to be under the pedals (other side of the floor)? but may not be.

Thanks Ian

check the engine and gearbox mounts are ok,also check there is no play in the gear linkage, could be a problem with the gearbox or clutch, also check your drives shafts and cv joints

Check lower wishbone arm bushes , common fault .Easiest and cheapest to replace complete suspension arm from motor factors , simple job .Usually hear knocking coming up through floor when taking up drive etc. .
