Ford Fiesta key failure

Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.25 zetec
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have been having problems with my key, getting into my car. I cannot access the car from the drivers side, it used to work then got stiffer and now cannot unlock the door, however I can use the key to lock it! I have been using the passenger side door to unlock the car (its central locking) but the last few weeks this has been getting stiff too and it really hard to turn. I have got a new key cut but this has not solved the problem. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do and if I need to take it to a garage, dealers etc to be sorted out before I get locked out! Thanks so much

If the locks are getting hard to turn ,best to squirt WD40, or equivalent into locks / key barrel and take some time working back and forth to try and free off.Usually works , if not ,case of pulling door trim off and freeing off any seized linkage etc.
