Ford Fiesta engine seems to misfire / judder when the air condioining is on.

Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.25 Zetec Climate
Model Year: 2008
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
We have had our Fiesta for about a week or so and we have started to notice when the air con is on that the engine is lumpy and after the compressor for the air con clicks it is followed by misfiring sound and is jerky and is not a smooth drive.

This happens through the gears and when your at a constant speed about every other minute.

I have taken the car back to the dealer yesterday, where we have purchased the car from and they said that it is normal for the 1.25 Zetec.

I understand that the air con uses a lot of power to run, therefore it would be slow to accelerate, but not to the state where your driving down the motorway and it's jerking and sounding like a bag of nails.

I am just trying to find out, has anybody else has come across this, if so, how was it remedied?

the garage is telling porkies. your should not be able to tell from the engine if your air con is on or off. your need the air con/engine management replays checked by a auto electrician or air con specialist... then send the bill to the garage, but better give them the chance to fix the problem for you first. l hate liars dont you?
