Ford Fiesta lose of steering fluid

Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.4tdci
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Leaks & Noises
the fiesta had a steering fluid lose took it to the garage they said it was a seal, it was replaced and about a month after that it started leaking again, book the car into another garage for a mot and asked them to sort the leak out, they also said it was another seal and after that was fitted it still leaked, the garage suggested fitting a new steering rack,a recon rack was fitted, took it back to the garage they said the gearbox will need to come out at a cost of £500 and now it still leaks worse than ever and its costing a fortune in steering fluid (and the lose of the little hair left ive got on my head)

Thanks for clearing that up , sorry you are out of work . There are many PAS specialist about who should be able to do the job faster and cheaper .This is an example of one in my area , whether good or bad cant say .You could phone them for some advice as they will know better with specialising in racks if what the garage says is true or not .If recon rack fitted , is it not still under warranty and should be replaced FOC ?

There are usually some in the free car magazine you can pick up in most petrol stations in my area . Hope it helps
