Ford Fiesta will not turn over when hot

Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.25 Zetec
Model Year: 1996
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi All,
Strange problem here, my car will refuse to turn over after it has been standing for about 10 mins after a journey. All that happens is the dashboard lights up as normal, turn the key to start and NOTHING not even a click of a solenoid or relay. I can get around the problem by turning the ingition on, unplugging the connector from the srarter motor solenoid wiring and then take a wire from this connector and dab it on the battery +ve terminal, the car then starts. I then reconnect the wiring plug and all is well. This problem only occurs when the engine bay is hot I have NO problems starting in the morning or in the evening when I leave work anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
