because you have said you have had a new starter motor fitted and you can hear a clicking noise well the clicking noise is the solenoid on the starter motor sticking so i would go back to who fitted the starter motor and have them check it out but i would say have it replaced as it will do it again and could leave you stranded and you should have a guarantee with it

The clicking as thomkas says is the starter solonoid but it could be that the battery is flat, your old starter might have finished the battery off.

I have this very problem today. Never had any problems with my Fiesta. Do you know what the problem was? Was the battery flat?
