Ford Fiesta misses badly when cold and more!!!!!!!!

Car: Ford Fiesta
Variant: 1.3 Mk3
Model Year: 1994
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
when the car is started in the mornings it fires up straight away and drives ok but then starts to bunny hop quite badly and misses and then it will be fine again for a few seconds and then start all over again. Its fine when its completely warmed up. When its stuttering if i dip the clutch the engine dies but it starts up again fine. Do i need a new carb? Please explain your answers in laymans terms as im not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to cars!!!!
thanks

Check your plugs and leads ,also any vacuum hoses / pipes for leaks or hanging or off .Also if fitted on that year / model , check or replace the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) which is located on the lower right hand end of the inlet manifold .
