Ford Fiesta overheating

change thermostat but top half is still hot and bottom cold thermostat i took off had like a little hole in top but new one never i have been told to drill a small hole in it would this make a diffrence and any idea what the hole for thanks

hi there the hole is just like a bypass hole and have you run the car up to tempreture and heard the cooling fan come in if not heres what you do start the car put the heater on to full power and on to hot settings and set the fan to screen
run the car up to tempreture and keep a eye on the water level as you have a air lock in the system with you saying that the radiator is hot at the top and cold at the bottom do as ive said and you should have no problems
