Any decent motor factor or accessory store should have them off the shelf / in stock . Simple and straight forward job to replace .

many thanks for replying,but the one we need has a cable on it any idea?

you need to undo the nut on back of alernator to release cable,if the cable is fixed to the alternator then follow it back and undo it at the nearest release point,you should be able to pick one up at a breakers yard,just take your old one with you to use as a template for gettinmg the right one

You should be able to get the correct alternator no problem if you take details of old unit . If you start going to scrap yards , you risk getting a dud or incorrect part .i.e wrong mountings , fittings , pulleys or output etc.
