the car will not start yesterday i had rac fit a new starter motor but there is no ignition dash lights up but there is no life .rac suggest gear box problem

Why did the RAC fit a starter motor that did not fix the fault ? Did they test the battery , scan for faults ? Surely they didn't leave without diagnosing and repairing the fault ?

Being an automatic , you may have a fault with the gearbox inhibitor switch . You could try moving the gear selector back and forth through the gate as you hold the key on , but be careful
