The car runs ok on normal trips etc.
When using motorway speeds, and then stop at services or traffic jam, the car engine will cut out and will not start again.
A company specializing in Diesels, cannot find anything wrong with the car. Injectors, fuel pump, etc were checked with no problems
global plug was fitted by the AA witch worked, until the long motorway trip. when after about 100 miles stopped at a services, the engine cut out, and would not start again.
I have lost confidence in this car, but if anyone can help please let me know, as I am travelling to Scotland (From DEVON) shortly.

Your not asking much are you?
Diesel specialist comes up empty and you try here?
Hmm,
Anyway liking a challenge,
My question is when this occurs and your cranking away trying to get it to start,
Does the rev counter register,
It should read 150-200 rpm.
Does it read at all?

The rev counter "should" read something when cranking,
No reading would make an instant suspect of the CRANK ANGLE SENSOR.
These sensors can fail completely,
But they can become intermittent due to heat build up.
My test would be to plug in a scanner and read live data for RPM on crank.
Diesels need a minimum of 180 RPM to fire,
If yours reads zero on the scan tool and zero on the rev counter then it'll never fire.
So a new CRANK ANGLE SENSOR is needed.
