Fiat Punto jolting and juddering

Car: Fiat Punto
Variant: 55 SX
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I move off, turn a corner or even when I'm driving along my car judders, jolts and makes a popping sound. This happens when I have my foot on the accelerator, i put my foot down and it seems as though there is a delay in the car actually moving. The juddering is becoming more frequent and i have been told that the car is running lean. What is this? What exactly needs to be fixed and how much might that cost?

Sounds like there's a blockage in the fuel supply, which could be for a number of reasons, i.e. the injectors or the fuel pump. I think it needs to be looked at in detail to work out what the problem is.

when they say lean they mean that the fuel mixture is weak and would be the reason for the car running poorly but also check for any air leaks as this will also weaken the mixture and make the car run poorly but one more thing that i can mention is some aerosol injector cleaner as you could have some varnish like film inside the throttle body and on some sensors spray this in to the throttle body until empty then see how the car runs you should notice a big difference straight away

Check the base plate gasket between the injection unit and the manifold ,its a paper gasket on a plastic type spacer ,these often leak air causing bad running and weak mixture
hope this helps
