Fiat Punto revs increase and hold when i put my clutch down to change gear

Car: Fiat Punto
Variant: 1.2
Model Year: 2015

When I am driving I will get up to the speed I need to be to change gear, when I put my clutch down to change the revs will increase and then hold it there for about 2 seconds and then they will drop. If I turn my car off and then back on again it fixes the problem and it doesn’t happen all the time I would say about once every 2 days

Could try cleaning the throttle body , check / clean the MAF sensor
