Fiat Punto fob key not working also padlock warning light on dash.?

I went to my car today and found that the fob key didn't start the car it turns over but does not start.also while using this key there is a car with a padlock warning light on dash??I called fiat garage they said the car could be confused,,:)and to try the spare key,
which I did the spare works fine and starts the car.i have tried the fob key again same problem does not start and not opening or locking doors tried the new battery no help.anyone can assist really appreciate thanks.

Have you replaced fob battery ? Is the car not still under warranty ?

It,s a faulty key and requires replacement,as it,s no longer communicating with the vehicle,possibly the chips damaged.

CAR PROTECTION SYSTEM FAILURE -
FIAT CODE (amber)
Turning the key to MAR the warning light on the
dial shall flash only once and then go off. If with the
ignition key at MAR the warning light stays on, this
indicates a possible failure (see “The Fiat Code
system” in the “Dashboard and controls” section).
IMPORTANT The turning on at the same time of
the U and Y warning lights indicates a failure of
the Fiat CODE system.
If with the engine running the Ywarning light
flashes, this means that the car is not protected by
the engine inhibitor device (see “The Fiat Code
system” in the “Dashboard and controls” section).
Contact Fiat Dealership to have all the keys
memorised.
