Fiat Punto reverse lights not working

Car: Fiat Punto
Variant: 1.6i Sporting
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
So, I have just bought a Punto and the only thing I didn't check was the reverse lights. As it happens, these are the only lights that don't actually work! I have tried replacing the bulbs and checked the fuse's etc.
It is possible that the reverse light switch on the gearbox needs replacing but I dont know where this is or how to change it.
Please let me know how to do this or any other solutions to the problem you might know of! thanks.

before you jump in at the deep end with this have you checked that you have power going to the reverse lights if you havent then its the reverse light switch usually located on the front of the gearbox with two wires going to it easy to spot
